Preparation For The Course
Marketing calendar:
Mark your calendar for 6-8 weeks prior to the first day of class. This is your marketing window. Be bold! Tell people what you want them to do!
-
Include any open coaching observations in your scheduling calendar.
-
Will you do a free meeting? Make a link to schedule that and add it to your offer on the NVM page, and on your own site if you have a sales & information page.
-
If you have a sales & information page on your own website, make it easy for them to register.
-
For your sales page, you can use NVM colors, fonts, and logo. If you want advice or help, ask Meredith.
YouTube or Vimeo:
-
You will need an account with YouTube or Vimeo to upload your class recordings. Recommended: Make a dedicated account for your NVM related content, including class recording uploads.
-
The S.O.P. for uploading content is included with each of the first 4 modules below. You can download it and add it to your own filing system, or continue to reference it here.
Emails & Data
-
As people register, you'll need to create a copy/paste email list for the weekly emails on a document or your email service.
-
You should build an easily accessible data sheet for emergency information. This data sheet should also include relevant information about each participant, such as payment plans, associated institutions, and dates.

Before They Register
Build Welcome Email Drip:
-
Create separate email drips for Level 1 and Level 2 courses. If you don't know what that is or how to do it, go to YouTube. Look up "how to build an email drip campaign with [your email service provider].
-
The text for your emails is provided below. Please feel free to adjust the language to make it more authentic to your writing style and add any decorative elements to make the emails more friendly and visually appealing. (There are a few graphics in the Graphics folder of this site.)
-
There are 8 welcome emails. If you don't want to include one or more of the emails, don't. Use your discretion. BUT, please include the survey + emergency contact request.
Survey:
Please direct participants to this survey (per Welcome emails no. 1 and 2). This helps us create valuable marketing data, and also provides you with emergency information for online training.
Time zone graphic
-
If your participants are in different time zones, go to TimeAndDate.com and create a time zone list by date. You will take screenshots of those, keep them in a folder, and add the appropriate date to the bottom of each module email. Here is an SOP for that process.

Create Your Offer
On your scheduling app...
-
Your participants will register via a scheduling app.
-
Here is an SOP for doing that. This SOP includes copy for the page that asks them to commit be clicking the “sign up now” button.

Open Coaching Observations
Schedule your coaching observations
Recommendation: Schedule your coaching observations before your class begins.
-
You can make these part of your class package or schedule them separately.
-
If it's part of your class package, your people should receive reminders just as they do with your class meetings.
-
-
If you are going to create these as events that other people can attend (e.g., your professional clients or teachers who took NVM training in the past), you should create them as events separate from your class.
-
If you choose this, be sure to communicate that clearly to class participants.
-
If you choose this, create an opportunity for people to register for these.
-

ONBOARDING
As soon as a participant registers, you can begin the email drip.
-
Unless you have this automated, you will need to trigger the drip yourself inside your email service.
-
Create two drip sequences, one for Level 1, and one for Level 2.
-
You will need to create this drip sequence in your own email service.
-
Suggested copy for each email is in the .docx documents below. You will need to design and decorate your emails as you like.
-
Suggested .png files and .gif files are suggested and provided in the Wix folder Homebase for Instructors. You can use them if you like.
-
You should copy the text and personalize it with your own voice.

FOR CLASS
-
Instructor notes have reminders. Check into your class 30-45 mins prior to class to make sure everything is in order (e.g., your computer works, the video plays, you have your notes, etc.)
-
Download notes and upload to Google docs or other editing software. There is a lot there, and you will need to edit based on both:
-
your level of comfort with that subject
-
the number of people in your class
-
-
A large class will leave little time for lecture after all the introductions. If you have a large class, edit your notes to focus on predictive processing (allostasis) as the most important thing.
-
Remember to press "record" on Zoom when your class starts!

Module 1.4 (week 4/4)
This is the end of Unit 1.
The participants have understood only a small percentage of what you've presented. That's ok.
Our purpose with this unit has been to shift them from an outside-in model that is based on concepts and top-down instruction to an inside-out model that is based on interoception and self-assessment. If they are starting to see the power of brain-first singing, then you've done your job.
-
Make sure your people know about your coaching observations.
-
Continually plant seeds that encourage them to take Level to and become a Certified Coach.

Module 2.5 (week 5/7)
This unit begins the exploration into coaching for popular styles. This unit is a little challenging for the instructor, because people fall into three basic categories:
-
I know almost nothing about popular styles. Don't sing that way, don't teach that way, and I'm not really interested.
-
I know a lot about popular styles. That's what I sing, and that's what I teach.
-
I like popular styles, and I support my singers who want to sing that. I don't know much about how all that stuff works and really want to learn.
This unit leaves a lot more room for discussion than the previous unit. This gives people an opportunity to share both their knowledge and their vulnerabilities.

This unit also asks people to enter the process themselves by trying to copy a singer's version of a song as closely as possible. They will not have to do this in front of the group, but it's a powerful exercise to go over with them in their private sessions. It will absolutely change their learning as singers and their approach as coaches.
