Carmela’s formal education was invaluable as it allowed her to develop a strong understanding of how students learn and so is able to cater to each individual. She also became a Vocal Habilitation Professional. This is a wholistic approach to teaching, focusing on the Bio-psycho-social model of treating a person in the studio, helping the student realign, build and strengthen the body, mind and voice.

Through her experience as a student and performer, Carmela can truly empathise with the frustration, struggles and joys of achieving a free and healthy voice. In her continuing professional development, Carmela attends the latest vocal workshops in classical; Bel Canto, contemporary and music theatre styles; Neuro-vocal method, Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method, Vocal Process teacher training etc. These provide her with more tools to teach in these different disciplines/styles.

Some of her current students include leads in the musical Hamilton (Australian cast), Six the musical, members in BABBA a touring ABBA tribute band and Blusher (just signed a USA record deal).

Her passion is to inspire confidence in oneself and their voice so that they can authentically express their true inner self and experience the joy that singing brings.
